[Rumor] Sony Xperia A,UL To Sport Snapdragon 600 Processor

With the launch of the Sony Xperia Z and ZL you’d think that Sony will relax a bit but apparently not as reports say the company is working right now on devices that will be sporting the new Snapdragon 600 processor. The said Android devices are the Sony Xperia A and the Sony Xperia UL, which of course will be first released in Japan if reports from smasoku.mobi are real.

The Sony Xperia A is codenamed as “Dogo” and will carry the model number SO-04E. It is reportedly going to be launched this summer by NTT DoCoMo.  As far as specifications of this device goes listed below is what we have gathered so far.

  • 4.6-inch touchscreen
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • 32 GB of internal storage space
  • infrared blaster
  • mobile wallet support
  • 1Seg Japanese TV support

International variants of this model will also be released which may come with different specifications as the Japanese model.

The next model is the Sony Xperia UL which is codenamed “Gaga” and is said to be similar in design with the Sony Xperia ZL. The specifications of this model are listed below.

  • 5.0 inches Full HD display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • 32 GB of internal storage space

The difference between the Xperia ZL and the UL is that the former sports a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor while the latter uses the new Snapdragon 600 processor.

Aside from both of these models the company is also reportedly going to release a 6.4 inch smartphone which goes by the codename of “Togari”. This device may be released later this year depending on whether a network will carry it. Right now Sony is still in talks with various carriers especially NTT DoCoMo for the release of this device. If it were to become available in the market its main competitor will be the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
