Ravensword: Shadowlands Android Game Review

If you are a fan of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim then the closest experience to this title you will ever get on the Android platform will have to be Ravensword: Shadowlands. This game is a follow up to the successful Ravensword: The Fallen King title which unfortunately isn’t available for the Android platform yet. This sequel now features a large 3D world as well as countless creatures for you to destroy.

Ravensword: Shadowlands which is developed by Crescent Moon Games is now available for download over at Google Play for $6.99. You will need a device running on at least Android 4.0 as well as a storage space of 515 MB.

The story revolves around a lone survivor of an epic battle in Heronmar. You wake up in the beautiful city of Aven where you will be then able to customize your character. You will then be able to explore the city, talk to the people and get some information of what your destiny is. After meeting an Archmage you are set on a quest to collect the Ravenstones which will be used to track down the Ravensword. This weapon will be used to defeat the creatures that are plaguing the land.

Basically you get to kill creatures and save the world in this RPG. Not quite a unique storyline but it’s definitely enjoyable.

You’ll get to explore vast areas in this game with extremely detailed visuals. Since you will be encountering all sorts of creatures you also have access to a variety of weapons. There are even merchants who are willing to sell you upgraded weapons although this comes at the cost of gold.

As far as combat goes it’s pretty much all hack and slash. Be careful though since the enemies you will encounter are stronger than you think.

The controls can’t be customized yet are pretty simple to use. The directional keys can be found at the left side of the screen while the action buttons are to the right.

Some of the game features include

  • Enormous 3d world to explore
  • First Person and 3rd Person on the fly switching
  • Gorgeous and realistic scenery
  • Ragdoll Physics
  • Original Soundtrack from composer Sean Beeson
