PS Vita2

PS Vita has got mixed reviews from all around the world; some called it an amazing piece of technology while others just ignored it. The main reason behind not liking this device is the growing number of smartphones and tablets which are equipped which powerful processors and graphics. Today the market is flooded with such smartphones and tablets which are even cheaper than the PS Vita but delivers the same graphical and gaming performance.  As a result PS Vita failed to take over the smartphone and tablet market in terms of gaming.

Joystiq is now reporting that several Sony stores across the US have dropped the price of 3G-compatible PlayStation Vita, down from $299.99 to $199.99. This discounted 3G bundle includes PS Vita, an 8 GB memory card and a free PlayStation Network game. Interestingly Sony’s online store is still offering the 3-G handheld at $249.99 while some retail stores carry the $299.99 price tag for PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi model.

Price drop PS Vita

According to Joystiq many of the Sony store employees have informed them that this price drop is permanent and Sony might discontinue the 3G model.High cost of data plan might be the cause of this decision because the services plan for PS Vita 3G model costs between $14.99 to $30 per month.
