With the announcement of the new HTC One at the Mobile World Congress 2013 event this week, we got a look at some of the new software features that HTC has been working on all these days. And one of the most notable updates to the software is the new custom user interface overlay that the Taiwanese company brought to the table, the all new HTC Sense 5.
For some reason, ever since I got my hands on the HTC Desire HD, I have become a fan of the HTC Sense custome interface. I did not like the Samsung Touch Wiz back then so much, but I do not like to use it even now. I use the stock interface that I get with a few custom ROMs based on AOKP or AOSP.
Anyway, there are a lot of fans of the new HTC Sense 5 and obviously, many people are waiting to get it on their HTC smart phones. If you are one of them, here is a good news. The company has announced that it will be rolling out updates to a few HTC smart phones in the coming months to give the new HTC Sense 5 to these smart phones, and the list includes HTC One X, HTC One X+, HTC One S, and the HTC Butterfly. You may note that there is no mention of the DROID DNA or the EVO 4G LTE on the list, and this may be because these are wireless carrier specific models. The other smart phones are international models.
Also, the company has mentioned that it will not be porting all the features of the new HTC Sense 5 to these smart phones, some features will remain exclusive to the new HTC One. But even with that in mind, we would love to see the new interface on older smart phones for sure.
