HTC’s affinity to Facebook is strong, with the Taiwanese smart phone manufacturer announcing the launch of another phone with deep integration with face book as one of its main features. Codenamed HTC Myst, the device will sport a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 320 PPI 4.3 inch 720p display, 5MP rear camera and a 1.6 MP front camera for video calling and will feature Wi-Fi, LTE and Bluetooth 4.0 for data transfer. HTC’s previous releases like the Status, Cloud Touch and Cloud Q phones have been designed to integrate well with the world’s most popular social networking website, Facebook. Myst will allow better mobile interfacing with Facebook especially since Facebook has recently announced its new News Feed that will allow for better integration with mobile apps from smart phones and tablets.
The new offering from HTC is expected to run on Android’s latest –Jelly Bean and will come preloaded with Facebook, Facebook Messenger and newest social networking member, Instagram app. With the Myst, HTC is looking to create the world’s first branded Facebook smart phone and follow it up with a line of phones and tablets working on the popularity of its new avatar – the Facebook phone. Facebook is the most used app and networking site in the world, designing a phone entirely around Facebook seems like a good idea to promote sales and market the phone as a novel concept in the smart phone sector. HTC has already established itself as a maker of elegant, stylish android based phone with fantastic features and performance. The company is looking to expand its user base by teaming up with Facebook for a first of its kind, Facebook phone.
Whether this would help HTC’s chances in the market is yet to be seen but both HTC and Facebook chose to remain silent about the Myst.
