Rumor: Verizon Galaxy S4 Details Emerge on Nenamark 2

The Samsung Galaxy S IV is not a mystery anymore, not to the most of us at least. We saw an alleged render of the smartphone leak out in the internet and we’ve been hearing bits and pieces about its specifications too since then. While none of it can be confirmed as it is still early days, we were inclined on believing that Samsung will treat us with something spectacular and jaw dropping. And now, there seems to be a leaked benchmark score of what appears to be the Verizon variant of the Galaxy S IV with the model number SCH-I545. The reason people think this is the Verizon Galaxy S IV is because its predecessor, the Galaxy S III, featured the SCH-I535 model number. And a bump in the model number indicates a successor.

The data reveals that the smartphone has a Full HD 1920×1080 display along with a 1.9 GHz processor with no mention of the chip maker or the number of cores. What strikes as a surprise though is the fact that the device is listed as having the Adreno 320 GPU which is what we see on the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. This raises questions about its authenticity. So is it really the Galaxy S IV? Only time will tell. There have been numerous reports before which suggested that the next Galaxy flagship will come with an upgraded PowerVR GPU. So we advise you to take this info with a pinch of salt for now. The news surfaced from Japanese blog RBMen.

Further when we move towards other info given in the leak, the smartphone is believed to be running on Android 4.2 out of the box. The S4 is said to be revealed on March 15 and launched the following month. We’re a little skeptical about this, but since anything can happen in the mobile arena, we won’t jump to conclusions. If all these leaks are anything to go by, we should see the Galaxy S IV come with an eight core Exynos 5 Octa chip or a similarly impressive quad core Exynos chip. Full HD display is almost confirmed and so is the version of Android. What we’re waiting to see now is whether Samsung will go with all plastic again or bring some new materials on board the flagship. Because as we all know, Samsung flagships aren’t necessarily the best looking in the world. The render which leaked last month suggested that Samsung will not bring anything new to the table when it comes to design, so we desperately hope that it isn’t the final design of the smartphone. As we saw last year, the American carrier variants of the GS3 didn’t exactly come with the same specs as its global variants, so the Snapdragon S4 Pro chip on this one, might make a little sense. But back then, the Exynos Quad chip didn’t have support for LTE, which is why Samsung went with the Snapdragon S4 dual core chip in the American variants of the GS3. So LTE compatibility in my opinion, should be available right from the start, especially in chipsets after 2012.
