Fuhu, the company behind the Nabi and Nabi 2 tablet for children, as well as cloud-based apps and services, is now selling two new tablets called the Nabi Jr and the Nabi XD. These devices now form part of Best Buy’s product listings, retailing for $99.99 and $249.99, respectively.

The two tablets, it would be recalled, were announced last December. The Nabi XD, according to the announcement, was slated for a mid-January launch, but it appears that there was a slight delay. Fortunately, for fans of Fuhu, the two devices are now available.

The Nabi Jr is a tablet aimed at a younger audience, as compared to the Nabi tablets. Its specifications include a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 1.0GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 4GB of eMMC flash memory, and 512MB of LPDDR2 system memory. It draws its power from a Lithium-polymer. The Nabi Jr likewise comes with a 2-megapixel rotating camera. Its connectivity options are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but does not have game ports, an HDMI port, or IEEE 1394 FireWire ports, however. Instead of the Google Play Store, the tablet is preloaded with the Fuhu Nabi App Store, from which users may download apps that are suitable for children. The Nabi Jr has dimensions of 6.8 x 4.1 x 0.9 inches, and weighs 1.5 pounds.

Meanwhile, the Nabi XD packs a 10.1-inch High-definition capacitive touchscreen with 1366 x 768 pixels, a 1.3GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 16GB of eMMC flash memory, and 1GB of RAM. It has Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as its operating system and a Lithium-polymer battery. Also onboard are a 2.0MP front-facing webcam and a 5.0MP rear-facing camera. Its connectivity options are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and HDMI. Its dimensions are 0.4 x 11.1 x 7.3 inches, and tips the scale at 3.7 pounds. There will also be an optional silicone keyboard, as well.
