Blu products are set to shake up the Android mid-range smartphones market with the introduction of three new smartphones equipped with NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processors and coming with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.  Just a few months ago, it would be unreasonable that there would be a smartphone categorized as mid-range yet powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor.  Blu was however quick to announce that these smartphones, though launching with older Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, will get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system soon after they hit the market.

Blu Products Quattro Phones

The three Quattro smartphones in the series include, Quattro 4.5, Quattro 4.5 HD and Quattro 5.7 HD.  These three quad-band GSM handsets come with penta-band 21Mbps HSPA+ capability including 1700MHz AWS to make them operation in the US.  As you may have guessed by now, the model numbers on the smartphones are a reference to the screen size.  The Quattro HD 4.5 boasts of a 4.5 inch screen while the 4.5 HD has a similar screen size but with HD display capability at 326 pixels per inch density.  Blu’s ‘Advanced Super Display’ also runs in the Blu Quattro 5.7 which has a High Definition screen to deliver sharp visuals as well as excellent viewing angles.

Blu Quattro 4.5

The Quattro 4.5 is the most affordable smartphone in the series.  In addition to the quad-core Tegra 3 processor, this entry-level yet mid-range Android smartphone features a 4.5 inch qHD screen, 1 GB RAM to complement the powerful processor and 4 GB inbuilt memory and a microSD card slot.  It also comes with a 5 megapixels rear camera, with 1080p video recording capability and autofocus.  This phone has a price label of $249.99 and will be coming in the first week of February.  If you ask me, this is a phone worth investing in.

Blu Quattro 4.5 HD

Second in the Quattro smartphone series is identical in build with the first, except it has a better screen, a bigger internal memory and a higher price.  The Quattro 4.5 has a high definition screen that brings photos and videos to life in spectacular clarity and natural color richness at 326 ppi display density delivering unrivalled display and vivid contrast ratios and viewing angles.  Its luxurious design and exceptional build quality of aluminum and glass put this sexy handset on top of the most dashing smartphones in the market at present.  The phone also boasts of an 8 megapixels rear camera with 1080p HD video recording capability, 16 GB onboard memory and 1 GB RAM.  Just like the Quattro 4.5, the Quattro 4.5 HD will be available in the market in the first week of February for $349.99

Blu Quattro 5.7 HD

Entering into the fray of high end large screen high definition smartphones is the Blu Quattro 5.7 HD smartphone or phablet for those who may think that such a screen is too large for a phone.  The important thing is that this large screen with a captivating1280 x 720 HD display with HD video recording capability at 1080p, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB internal memory and a microSD card slot to expand the memory by up to 32 GB and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, just like every other phone in the series.  This handset will however not come in the first week of February like the other two, it will be coming to the market sometime in the last week of March with a price tag of $299.

All these phones will come unlocked, meaning that there will be no contracts attached.  The phones do not sound too bad, will you go for one?
