BlackBerry’s upcoming flagship smartphone called the BlackBerry Z10 won’t be available in the market for the next couple of weeks but as early as now you can get your hands on one. That is if you are willing to spend more than $1000 over at eBay to get one.
The BlackBerry Z10’s selling over at eBay are the one’s which will be sold to the public on its official release date. So how did some guys over at eBay get a hold of these units? These are actually the devices handed out by the company to guests and participants on their product launching last Jan. 30, 2013. Those enterprising individuals who were given units figured out that they could make a huge profit by selling it over at eBay.
As of now there are a couple of Z10’s that have already breached the $1k mark. One post had 8 bids which already bumped up the price to $1500. Another post had 18 bids jacking up the price to $1,250. Those who will successfully buy this device will only have a couple of weeks of bragging rights before it becomes widely available.
The device will of course be carrier unlocked which allows you to use it in any network. When the Z10 officially becomes available an unlocked version will cost around $599.
The number of people willing to spend a lot of money to get their hands on the upcoming flagship device of the company is a good indication that there is still a lot of interest for BlackBerry devices.
This is a make or break device for the company as they are trying to recover its former glory. The company is banking on its new operating system called BlackBerry 10 which is based on the QNX platform.
