ZTE, the Chinese consumer electronics giant, has been working hard to release a number of Android smart phones this year. The company is working on release several mid range and high end devices in 2013. The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is scheduled to happen later this month in Barcelona, and the company is expected to show off a few of its strong contenders.
“We would like to raise the percentage of mid- to high-range smart phones. That’s the direction we’re heading,” Lv Qianhao, head of ZTE’s handset strategy, said in an interview with Reuters, adding that the company expects to ship more than 50 million smart phones in 2013.
The company is also trying to take down Huawei, the rival which is getting a good hand in the Android smart phone market. ZTE has already announced the Grand S recently. The ZTE Grand S smart phone is going to run on a quad core processor and boast a 1080p full HD display. This is expected to wow the public at the Mobile World Congress later this month.
There are two other most anticipated smart phones from ZTE’s stable. They are the ZTE Grand Memo and the ZTE Grand Mozilla. The ZTE Grand Memo is coming out with a huge 5.7 inch 720p display. So that obviously puts that in the phablet area. The smart phone will also have a whooping 1.7 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, a 13 mega pixel camera at the back of the smart phone, and will run on the not so latest Android 4.1.2 operating system, which is also known as Android Jelly Bean.
The ZTE Grand Mozilla, on the other hand, is going to be ZTE’s first smart phone which will be running the all new Firefox mobile operating system. Both ZTE and Mozilla would surely be a lot excited about this smart phone in particular for the obvious reason.
