EA Games’ award-winning racing title, Need For Speed: Most Wanted, will soon be released for Nintendo’s Wii U platform. North American Wii U gamers would be the first ones to enjoy the game as the publisher set the release date on March 19th while European gamers would have to wait until March 21st. This confirms previous reports suggesting the Most Wanted title will debut in the spring of 2013.
Many gamers can attest to the thrill the game brings and how its developer made it more realistic. Criterion, the studio behind the development of the Wii U version, made sure the new version for the new platform can live up to expectations. There are several platform-specific modes that have been added so it can offer more challenges and entertainment than before. This prompts EA to call it the “Enhanced Version.”
One of the most exciting modes NFS: Most Wanted for Wii U brings is the new local co-op mode called Co-Driver. This mode requires two gamers. One player will use Wii Remote or Wii U Pro Controller to steer and make sure their (virtual) car continues to move and evade possible obstacles while the other player will use the GamePad to control and provide navigation assistance to the player on the wheel.
Another feature this version boasts about is the ability of players to change mods, track milestones, uncover cities’ secrets and even flip between cars of their liking without having to pause the game. That said, Criterion Games included 5 fast cars on the long list of vehicles players can choose from: McLaren F1 LM, Pagani Zonda R, Lamborghini Aventador J, Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, and Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. Gamers also have the option to play the game off-screen.
The Need For Speed: Most Wanted will carry a price tag of $59.99 in the U.S. and €69.99 in Europe. Being one of the best racing titles in the industry, it has also been made available for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Kindle Fire, iOS, PS Vita and Android; all of these versions were released last year.
