Verizon Activated 9.8 Million Smartphones In 2012
AT&T recently broke news that the carrier has beaten its all-time smartphone sales record in Q4 by selling a whopping 10 million devices. Verizon Wireless is now reporting that the carrier has activated 9.8 million smartphones in Q4 2012. While activation’s are entirely different than sales, it’s still a very impressive number.
Verizon hasn’t released sales numbers yet, as they will be releasing them on January 22nd. We imagine that they’d be near AT&T’s amount of sales, if not higher though. Verizon outsold AT&T last quarter by selling 6.8 million smartphones compared to AT&T’s 6.1 million. With Verizon having the nation’s best coverage, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them having outsold AT&T again.
Take a guess, how many smartphones do you think Verizon sold in Q4?
