CES isn’t just for the big players in the electronics industry. It also caters to the lesser known brands that make it a perfect place for them to launch their products. Take for instance Velocity which announced two new Android tablet models. The Velocity Cruz D610 and Cruz Q610 are both 10.1 inch tablets that run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box.

Velocity Micro Cruz Q610 Specifications

These two models will be available at the later part of the first quarter of this year. As far as specifications go it is quite underwhelming if you compare it to the other tablet models being revealed at CES made by other companies.

One thing we liked about these upcoming models is their processors. The D610 uses a dual core processor while the Q610 uses a quad core processor. What we didn’t like though is its display that has a low resolution.

For $199 you could already get a Google Nexus 7 device that comes with better screen resolution, has a much more powerful processor and better OS. These models might find a niche in the international market where people don’t have access to the Nexus.

Aside from these tablets Velocity also announced other products at CES which are listed below

  • Edge Mini – dubbed as the smallest desktop in the market with a dimension of 4”x4” and a thickness of only 1.5 inches.
  • NoteMagix Ultrabook Devices
  • Edge AIO
  • VMultra Drive
  • Gaming and Mainstream Desktops
