Activision has announced a release date for the next Walking Dead game, Survival Instinct. The Walking Dead-themed shooter will also be making an appearance on the Wii U, Activision confirmed.
The game will be hitting shelves on March 29th for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and will be downloadable (presumably off of Steam) on the PC. It is not yet known whether the PC version of the game will be downloadable only or if it’ll be something you can pick up at the store as well.
Just like the previous Walking Dead game, there’s no doubt that the game will be met with huge success. Considering that The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will be a shooter, it may be met with even more commercial success than was originally expected, as shooter’s tend to have a lot of appeal to a large amount of people (e.g. Call of Duty, Battlefield).
Survival Instinct follows characters from The Walking Dead TV series, but is completely unrelated to Telltale Games’ episodic Walking Dead game. However, Survival Instinct is inspired by the same comic book series, so there more than likely will be some similarities.
No doubt we’ll be seeing more Walking Dead games in the future considering how commercially successful the TV series has been.
