How much have we heard of the Samsung Galaxy S IV since the past few days? Well, that would be hard to answer because this is pretty much all people talk about these days and rightly so as Samsung has set high standards for its smartphones and people start getting excited about the next flagship way before it is launched. So here’s another Galaxy S IV rumor for us, but this time coming officially from the company’s Lebanese unit. The folks at Samsung Lebanon have claimed that the new Samsung flagship will arrive in May. This is what all the speculations and rumors have been suggesting anyways, so there’s nothing new to learn here. However, it’s always reassuring when we hear it right from the horse’s mouth. Samsung Lebanon’s exact post read – “The Galaxy SIV won’t be released before May 2013.”
Well, we’ve had our fair share of Galaxy S IV rumors in one day alone where one report claimed that the device will be shown off at CES under closed doors to some executives from carriers and other partners. Another report showed us what is believed to be the device itself, with a typical spy shot kind of an image showing a very narrow (almost non existent) bezel and a fairly familiar design. The leaked device apparently will feature a 5-inch 1080p display as we’ve all been hoping, and well that’s about everything we know about the device. Other rumors have revealed that it will feature the quad core Exynos 5440 chipset using the ARM Cortex A15 CPU.
There have been a few hopeful Samsung fans who claimed that the device could be launched during the MWC or CES 2013, but that’s clearly not going to happen as Samsung clearly wants to continue in the footsteps of the Galaxy S III launch and rightly so. What this means though is that manufacturers like HTC, LG will again have a head start with the flagship smartphones and will have to make the best of it when the time arrives. Will we see that happening? We’ll know more at the MWC 2013 event in Barcelona this February. CES should be a very low key event for Samsung where it will only show off its display panels with the flexible display apparently being the prime focus. As this info comes straight from Samsung Lebanon, we would be easily convinced that this is in fact is true. However, we wouldn’t jump the gun until we officially hear about the announcement date from Samsung.
