Samsung has made it officially known that the Galaxy Note II will be available in two additional colors, Amber Brown and Ruby Wine. The color will be used on the front and back panels of the phablet, as well as on the S-Pen.

The new colors will be released in Samsung’s home country of South Korea first before it hits other markets. Samsung has not announced, however, when these will be available internationally.

It would be recalled that when Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note II last year during IFA 2012 in Berlin, the device only came Ceramic White and Titanium Gray.

Rumors of the color refresh for the phablet began last November, when it was also speculated that another Samsung handset, the Galaxy S III Mini will be released in Titan Gray, Garnet Red and Onyx Black. During that time, it was believed that the Galaxy Note II will come in Topaz Blue, Onyx Black, and Garnet Red. There is no news, however, if Samsung has plans to add these colors to the list of options.

Earlier this month, leaked images of a Korean advertisement for the phablet, also gave a preview of the two new colors. There was also a photo of the Galaxy Note II in black that circulated around that time, but it was later revealed to be nothing but a fan-made render.

Samsung’s most recent device for the high-end market segment boasts of a 140.9 mm or 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a  resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, it comes with a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of system memory, and a choice among 16, 32, and 64GB of RAM. A microSD card slot allows for expansion up to 64GB. Various connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 Host, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz), Wi-Fi HT40, Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC. It also comes with the S-Pen to facilitiate note-taking. On its rear is an 8-Megapixel Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash plus a 1.9 Megapixel VT Camera.
