Samsung Galaxy GT-N5100 Could Be An 8-Inch Note

It seems that the Samsung is preparing to release a new 8-inch Galaxy Note, that would also be known as the GT-N5100.

Last December, the product code GT-N5100 was spotted in the Nenamark2 benchmark test, but it was then believed to be a 7-inch device packed with a 1.6GHz Exynos 4412 processor, a display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean as its operating system.

More recent information, however, reveals that the GT-N5100 could be device with an 8-inch display. This would allow it to compete against the Apple iPad Mini, whose display spans 7.9 inches diagonally, as well as popular 7-inch tablets in the market, like the Google Nexus 7.

Sam Mobile has already published what could be the specifications of the GT-N5100 or the Galaxy Note 8.0 which supposedly is codenamed Kona. It has Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as its operating system, 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos 4412, and an 8.0-inch 1280×800 TFT Super Clear LCD screen. Also onboard would be a 4,600 mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, and a choice between 16 or 32GB of internal storage. Expansion through a microSD card is also available. Its main camera has a 5-megapixel sensor whereas its secondary camera comes with 1.3 megapixels. Connectivity options are Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, A-GPS  whereas supported GSM networks include GSM networks: EDGE (850/900/1800/1900) HSPA+21.1Mbps, and HSUPA 5.76Mbps (850/900/1900/2100). Furthermore, the upcoming Note purportedly measures 211.3 × 136.3 × 7.95 mm and tips the scale at 330 grams. Being part of the Note line of devices, the eight-incher will naturally come with the S-Pen, as well, to facilitate note-taking on the device. Meanwhile, Samsung’s chosen colors for the device are still unknown at the moment.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 or the GT-N5100 is expected to make its first appearance during Mobile World Congress next month.
