Rumors of a new Samsung Galaxy smartphone called the Fonblet are now circulating, following a report from SamMobile and a trademark registered by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. on Trademarkia last year.
Sam Mobile, citing insider sources, says that the Fonblet appears to be the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8 but with added phone functions. It will purportedly have the product code GT-I9152 and come with a 5.8-inch display like the Samsung media player. The blog adds that the handset will come in Pure White and could possibly feature Android 4.1.2 or 4.2.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Furthermore, it will have dual-SIM support, and is said to be headed for Europe.
The rumored handset may also share some of the features of the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8, but as to which will be included remain to be revealed.
The Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8 comes with a TFT display with QHD resolution of 540 by 960 pixels, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Touchwiz UI, a 3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, a 2,500mAh battery, built-in stereo speakers, and a choice between 16 or 32 GB of storage. It is only available in Korea.
Meanwhile, in Trademarkia, the Samsung Fonblet has the following description: “Audio equipment consists of stereo audio speakers, built-in wireless communication receivers and docks for use with portable electronic apparatus, namely, electronic book readers, tablet computers, mp3 players, mp4 players, mobile phones, and smartphones; computer application software for portable electronic apparatus to install and control audio equipments aforementioned; blank Universal Serial Bus (USB) flash memory drive; camcorders; computer game software; Computer network hubs, switches and routers; computer software for instant messaging, sending and receiving emails and contact information, schedule sharing and contents sharing service; computer software for managing and organizing various digital reading contents namely e-books, e-newspapers, thesis, and e-magazines; computer software for personal information management; computer software for purchasing, downloading, playing or listening to music; computer software for purchasing, subscribing, downloading, playing or listen…”
