PlayStation Plus Members: Darksiders Is a Free Download

PlayStation Plus members, as of today, are able to download Vigil Games’ Darksiders for free. Granted, you won’t be able to download it until the PlayStation Network update is available, which is a bit unfortunate. On the bright side, we all love free games! Not to mention that just about every gamer adores riding into the apocalypse on a fiery horse!

Those who plan on downloading Darksiders will ultimately love the game, but will utterly be disappointed upon trying Darksiders 2, as it is plagued with bugs that destroy the playability of the game. Hopefully we’ll be seeing bug fixes for the game after company’s are done bidding on THQ’s assets later this month, but I wouldn’t hold your breath for a third installment unless something miraculous happens.

Sony began 2013 with free game downloads like NBA Jam: On Fire Edition along with Mega Man 9 and 10. Mega Man 9 and 10 are still available for download as of this writing, but will no doubt be removed within the next week or so. Star Drone, as of today, is half-off, costing a mere $2, whereas it normally costs $4.

Sony is really doing an outstanding job with their PlayStation Plus service. How can you resist getting it when Sony keeps throwing free games in your face week after week? It ultimately pays for itself if some of the games they offer for free were games that you wanted to get in the future. Besides, there really isn’t a reason to not get it if you own a PlayStation 3.
