Sprint announced that owners of the LG Optimus G would be receiving a minor OTA update. Unfortunately this update isn’t Jelly Bean despite claims that that device would be updated to Jelly Bean in December. The minor update will most notably bring performance and battery life improvements to the device. Additionally, Sprint says that visual voicemail will receive an update as well.

Again, it’s a minor update, but hopefully this update is just clearing the way for a much larger update that was promised in December.

To grab the latest update, make sure to head into Menu > Settings > Update Firmware.

If you’ve gotten the update be sure to let us know all about it in the comments section below!

Just updated mine fast and easy update less than 5 minutes but i haven’t noticed any difference yet in performance

With these really minor updates, most tend to not notice a difference, as the performance “improvements” aren’t too drastic.
