iPad 5 may debut in October with an iPad Mini design

The rumor mills are hard at work trying to figure out what the next instalment of the Apple iPad would be like. There are already many rumors about the next gen iPad as you might know. And one of the rather interesting rumor is that the next iPad, dubbed the iPad 5, will look a lot like the smaller iPad Mini than it would like the fourth generation full sized iPad 4.

The iPad 5 is said to have the same 9.7 inch display unit from the iPad 4, but instead of the insanely popular Retina Display that the Cupertino tech giant has been very proud of, the company will be trying out the IGZO display panel from Sharp. This would make the iPad a whole lot thinner, according to the rumors. Also, the edges and curves on the edges would be very comparable to the iPad Mini, hence giving it a very iPad Mini like look and feel.

The rumor also says that the company is planning on narrowing the left and right side bezels to make the whole product a bit more smaller. To be more precise, the rumor says that the left and right side bezels will be totally removed. Although, that seems a bit less practical to me.

The iPad 5 is also said to sport the new Apple A6X processor which is known for its battery friendliness. So you can expect the next iPad, the iPad 5, to give a bit more battery backup than the usual 10 hours.

All these rumors come from Jeremy Horwitz of iLounge. Jeremy Horwitz has come up with many rumors about Apple’s products in the past as well. But he has not been correct every time. But the iPhone 5 rumors that he reported almost five months before the launch of the smart phone got him a lot of attention. He also says that the iPad 5 will see the light of day sometime in October this year. Are you excited?
