The rumor mill about the new iPad 5 is going on strong. There is at least one new rumor about the new iPad 5 that we come across. Yesterday, we told you that the Cupertino tech giant might be working on a 128 GB iPad 5. While that is still a rumor, today we have an image of what is told to be the back plate of the next generation iPad.
The image was sent to 9to5Mac from a Chinese iPad accessory manufacturer claiming that it is the back plate of the next generation black iPad 5. The back plate is kept next to a black iPad Mini to point out the similarities. This is because another rumor says that the new iPad 5 will be more like the iPad Mini in the build and the looks department.
The authenticity of the source of the rumor is not yet verified, so we should just take this rumor with a grain of salt. But from looking at the back plate, we can say that it is probably from an LTE version of the iPad, as we can see the black bar for the antenna. The LTE version of the iPad 5 is expected to sell for $929, while the Wi Fi only version of the tablet will be available for $799. The rise in the price is because of the rise in the storage space on the device.
Also, we have had some reports, rumors to be more precise, which point to an early release of the next generation iPad 5 tablet, as early as March. That is just almost a month away. But the source of this rumor is also not verified, so another grain of salt. In any case, we are sure to see an improved iPad very soon. So start saving up for it.
