Huawei announced the Ascend D2 smartphone at CES 2013 yesterday. It’s a 5-inch 1080p monster phone coming in with a 6.1-inch display powered by a quad-core CPU. Additionally, the device is dust and water proof.
The Huawei Ascend D2 has not received a whole lot of attention compared to a lot of other devices at CES this year. In fact, it’s arguably received less attention than the Sony Xperia Z. The little attention the Ascend D2 received may also have to deal with the fact that it is unknown as to whether the device will be making its way to the U.S.
Huawei released a video revealing that a lot of work went into the Ascend D2, as the device has an extremely complicated manufacturing process. The device goes through a whopping 116 separate manufacturing process. You can check out a preview of the manufacturing process the Ascend D2 goes through below. It’s actually quite amazing.
While the 6.1-inch display may turn a few people off, this bad boy is no slouch.
