The Chromebook market will be getting another player as HP is set to release its first ever model. Previously only Samsung and Acer released models for this line. The HP Pavilion Chromebook will sport the largest display of any Chromebook available with a size of 14 inches.

HP Pavilion Chromebook 14-c010us PC Technical Specifications

  • 14-inch HD BrightView LED-backlit display 1366 x 768 display
  • 1.1GHz Celeron processor
  • 2GB of DDR3 RAM expandable up to 4GB
  • 16GB solid-state drive
  • USB 2.0
  • HDMI
  • Ethernet
  • SD card slot
  • 2.55Ah lithium-ion battery last up to (approximately) four hours and 15 minutes

Nothing much differentiates HP’s model from the models coming from other vendors other than the fact that it comes with a much larger display size. The resolution though is the same as the other models.

This leaked information came directly from the HP website which advertised the upcoming Chromebook and had an expected Ad Embargo date of February 17th.

Based on the specifications leaked there’s really not much to get excited about. It’s battery life lower than what you would get from the Samsung Chromebook which offers nearly 7 hours of usage time before needing a recharge. Then there’s also the use of a Celeron processor which is a line that is known to heat up easily.

This upcoming model also connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi only. We should be expecting a model that can connect to mobile networks very soon.

The upcoming release of this device will definitely catch the attention of Microsoft as HP is one of its biggest clients. As we all know Microsoft’s Surface device isn’t performing well in the market and the release of this Chromebook will give more options to consumers who want to use the Chrome environment.

Chromebooks run on Google’s Chrome OS which is basically a browser. You do all your work in the browser and any data that you save will also synch with your cloud storage.
