Sometimes we just need a game where we can just jump right straight into the action and blast away at enemies. This is what Warlock Studio had in mind when they created Gunner Free Space Defender. There’s a minimal storyline and you don’t even have to move around, all you need to do is set your target at incoming enemies and blast them.
Despite having the word “free” in its title, Gunner Free Space Defender will actually cost you $1.99 to download over at Google Play. You will need a device running on at least Android 2.2 and a storage space of 17 MB. We have found out that the bigger your device display the better the game experience will be. If you have a tablet then try installing the game in it. There is actually a free lite version which you could try out first before purchasing the full version.
This 3D first person space shooter lets you play two game modes. There’s the campaign mode and the survival mode. Each mode has 32 levels for you to finish. You are in control of a space turret and your objective is to protect friendly objects by destroying the attacking enemies.
Assisting you in this task are your primary and secondary weapons. You will be able to change weapons as you unlock them when you advance to the levels. Your primary weapon comes with unlimited ammo however the downside to this is that whenever you fire it subtracts a point from your overall score. It also tends to overheat so you better use it wisely. There are 12 primary weapons as well as 6 secondary weapons to choose from.
In terms of graphics the game developer really did a good job. The visuals are quite good and smooth. Since the game uses a 3D engine you might want to install this on a device with a powerful GPU.
The controls are quite simple since all you have to do is aim and shoot. You will need good hand eye coordination to be able to blast away at the enemies.
If you are looking for a first person space shooter that is action packed and has great graphics then you might want to check this title out.
