Acer recently unveiled in China their latest Android smartphone model called the Acer Liquid E1. This device seems to be the successor of the company’s 2010 model called the Acer Liquid. This time around, the new model comes with more powerful features although when compared to today’s smartphones it can be judged as a middle range device.

Acer Liquid E1 Specifications

  • Android 4.1.1
  • 4.5-inch qHD display with 960 x 540 pixels
  • dual-core 1GHz processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4GB of internal storage
  • 5MP rear-facing camera
  • 3MP rear-facing camera
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • FM radio
  • GPS
  • microSD support
  • microUSB
  • accelerometer
  • gyroscope
  • digital compass
  • ambient light sensor
  • proximity sensor
  • 1760 mAh battery

There’s nothing really special about the specifications of the device. The dual core processor is quite outdated by today’s standards when major manufacturers are already releasing quad core devices. One thing we do like though is its use of Android 4.1.1 straight out of the box. This means that you will be able to use Project Butter and Google Now.

In terms of physical design Acer has not disappointed us. Although the phone looks like any standard device its dimensions are pretty impressive. It has a thickness of only 9.9 millimeters and weighs only 130 grams.

The Acer Liquid E1 was first leaked online December of last year and this is the first time it is officially shown by the company. There is no plan yet to bring this device to the U.S. but there’s a huge chance that it will be making its way before the yearends. It will also be coming out in several international markets soon.

There’s a huge probability that this model will be shown by Acer in this year’s Mobile World Congress along with the company’s other offerings.

The company has not discussed any pricing or date as to when this model will be made available to the market.
