Samsung Galaxy S III owners on Verizon’s network are going to be ecstatic, as the phone will bet getting the official Android Jelly Bean update tomorrow, December 14th. As you know, the carrier released a few support documents and then quickly took them down as news of it spread like wildfire. The update will roll out in phases, which means some users may not get the update right. Verizon says that users of the device should be able to pull down the update manually within a week or two if you still — for some reason — haven’t gotten the update.
Jelly Bean has been available for the Galaxy S III for a while now, but as usual, Verizon has been late to the party. Albeit that may be just because Verizon has made Jelly Bean (for the S III) ISIS ready, which means the Galaxy S III will now work with the NFC-payment solution that’s trying to attempt to compete against Google Wallet. They may have a hard time doing that if Google manages to get the Wallet app working on individual phones as opposed to carrier networks though.
If you get the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean tonight, be sure to sound off in the comments as to how you’re liking it!
