TransPhone Pro: A Budget Phone+Tablet Device

A new smartphone-tablet combo is about to enter the market called the TransPhone Pro. This device is similar to the Asus PadFone 2 in a sense that you will be able to dock the smartphone on the tablet. What it differs though is in the price as it is less than half of the PadFone making it more accessible to the budget conscious shopper.

Frank Zhou the creator of the TransPhone had this to say regarding the device “The whole point of this configuration is that most people rarely need to use a tablet and a smartphone at the same time and that means they are spending quite a lot of money on duplicated processing, connectivity and storage electronics as well causing themselves additional hassle with two devices to manage and synch, and – if you want the tablet to have 3G – two SIM cards and extra contract hassles. When you add up all the unnecessary costs TransPhone eliminates, it wins Total Cost of Ownership wrestling matched by a wide margin.”

Judging from its specifications and its selling price I’d say that this will become quite popular. You will be getting two devices which works seamlessly together. If you ever wanted to try the PadFone but just can’t afford its $600 price tag then this model is the best alternative.

The TransPhone Pro will be available in stores by March 2013 for $299. If you want to save even more you can already pre-order it and pay only $239.99.
