I am extremely excited today, and a bit disappointed. Bethesda has confirmed that the Dragonborn downloadable content for Skyrim will be coming to the PC and PlayStation 3 early next year. What’s a bit saddening is that the Xbox 360 gets the DLC a lot earlier than us PC and PlayStation 3 players do. Of course, if they’re adding extra stuff to the PC version, I’m willing to wait. I would love it if the Dragonborn DLC was nearly bug-free on its release day for the PC. Not only that, but since the PC’s hardware is better than the Xbox 360, I wouldn’t mind seeing some extra improvements that the Xbox and PlayStation aren’t capable of.
On another note, it’s quite saddening to hear no mention of the Dawnguard or Hearthfire add-ons for the PlayStation 3. A while back Bethesda was having a few technical difficulties with the PlayStation 3. Things were sounding promising, as Sony was working with Bethesda on fixing it. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard any word as to how that all worked out. We don’t know if the add-ons are still in the works for the PlayStation 3 or if they were just left to be forgotten about.
While players on the PlayStation 3 will be extremely sad to hear no word of Dawnguard or Hearthfire, Dragonborn being confirmed for the PlayStation 3 is great news. It sounds like a massive patch, and it is looking like it’s going to be really good.
Eurogamer has even put up an article listing all that we can expect in the DLC! Although, there are spoilers, so be warned!
