LG has officially announced the launch of the Optimus Vu, the supposed Galaxy Note competitor, in the United Arab Emirates. This means that the 5-inch Optimus Vu is now available in just about every major market in North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America and now the Middle East.
If you’ve kept up with any of the Android blogs, you’ll know that the Vu does not have the typical smartphone design in mind, instead taking on a more square design. Granted, the square design does make reading easy on the smartphone, and also puts features like QSlide and Quick Memo to use. Regardless reviews have claimed the smartphone to be “half-baked,” but that is ultimately up for the consumer to decide. Considering that LG has already sold 17 million units of this device, it’s clear that there is some popularity behind it.
Regardless, it’s great to hear that the UAE is getting another choice to choose from. As you know, they don’t always get all of the top of the line tech releasing in the U.S., Europe and etc.
Do any of our friends in the UAE plan on picking up the LG Optimus Vu anytime soon? Does the device interest you at all? Make sure to let us know in the comments section below.
