Huawei Ascend G510 Lands at the FCC

The Huawei Ascend G510 smartphone made an appearance recently at the website of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This could hint at an impending announcement of the device from the Chinese electronics company, although nothing has been confirmed at this point.

The FCC document reveals that the smartphone will support Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth, and W-CDMA/GSM connectivity. It does not have support for Near Field Communication, however. Also mentioned in the FCC listing is its 1750mAh battery, which has the model number HB4W1H.

According to Blog of Mobile, the Huawei Ascend G510 is a smartphone running on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It also comes with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor under the hood and 512MB of system memory. For its display, it is equipped with a FWVGA screen spanning 4.5 inches diagonally and sporting a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. It has two cameras, with 3- and 5-megapixel CMOS image sensors, respectively. The smartphone is available in black and measures 134.0 × 67.0 × 9.9 millimeters. Its tips the scale at 150 grams. In China, the smartphone received its certification last month. Apart from these, however, there is scarce information regarding the Huawei Ascend G510.

In related news, Huawei will take the wraps off a new 5-inch full HD smartphone in next year’s CES in Las Vegas. This device will go head to head against the new 1080p smartphones entering the market, like the HTC J Butterfly or Droid DNA, the Oppo Find 5, and the Sharp Aquos Phone SH930W, among others. Huawei is also reportedly preparing to reveal two Windows 8 devices at the popular trade show. Meanwhile, Another device on Huawei’s upcoming product lineup is a 6.1-inch phablet called the Huawei Ascend Mate, which is expected to compete against the Samsung Galaxy Note II.
