Windows Phone 8 devices from AT&T are finally here. You can get your Nokia Lumia 920, Lumia 820 or HTC 8X now! Nokia Lumia 920 is considered as a flagship Windows Phone 8 device by Nokia, and is also an exclusive model from AT&T. The hardware of Lumia 920 is as exciting as the operating system itself. Prior to the launch, it was thought that the device will be retailing for $150 along with a 2 year contract, but ATT surprised us all by launching Lumia 920 for just $99.99. Nokia has been suffering financially and has lost its position in the smartphone market all over the world, and the new Windows Phone 8 devices, including Lumia 920, Lumia 820 and few more which are still in the pipeline, are expected to get Nokia its position back.
The Lumia 920 costs $99.99 on a 2 year contract whereas a slightly lower model, the Lumia 820, will set you back by $49.99 along with a 2 year contract from AT&T. Apart from the amazing design and hardware, the price tag is another reason to choose the Windows Phone 8 device instead of the much popular option, the Apple iPhone 5. If you take some time digging for offers, you may as well get your Nokia WP8 device for free! Yesterday, I had written about a campaign being run by a popular computer vendor, CompUSA, and according to the offer, the customer is entitled for a free Lumia 820 on purchase of a Windows 8 laptop or desktop. That’s a pretty good offer if you were out to buy a new laptop or desktop, besides the offer still requires you to sign a 2 year contract on AT&T.
Today, we have spotted a better offer than yesterday’s CompUSA offer, and this time it is from Walmart. Walmart has put the Nokia 920 and 820 on sale and like always, they have the devices at a cheaper price. Both the devices are cheaper by $50 on a two years contact and it’s one heck of a deal if you are out there to get the best Windows Phone 8 device out there.
The Lumia 920 can be bought for just $49.99 with a new AT&T account whereas you can have the cheaper Lumia 820 for FREE, and yes, you don’t have to buy a new Windows 8 laptop or desktop in order to avail this price. The off-contract price for the 920 is still at an over-inflated $699, so there’s no promotional offer on that. Colors options include cyan, white, black and red, and yellow is absent for some reason.
For some odd reason Amazon Wireless is not yet aboard the Lumia 920 train. If you’ve already bought your Lumia 920 or 820, it’s a bit sad news for you. AT&T also charges a restocking fee on returns, so it wouldn’t be worth returning as you won’t be saving much doing so. Also, walmart doesn’t include the free wireless charging plate in the offer. Nevertheless, it’s a very good deal. What are your thoughts on this?
