Remember a while back when Samsung announced a quad-core flip phone? Turns out they went ahead with their plans and released the flip phone earlier today. Samsung had Jackie Chan at the event showing off the phone as well. It turns out that this phone might be a bit too expensive for the average consumer. Actually, it’s way too expensive for the average consumer as you could buy a good six unlocked Galaxy Note II’s for the price of this flip phone. The device is rumored to be priced at ¥18,000 and ¥20,000. That turns out to be $2,900 and $3,210 USD, respectively. For that price tag, I would much rather save my pennies and invest in something than spend it on a brand new flip phone.
The flip phone is running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a dual 3.7-inch 800 x 480 Super AMOLED touchscreen, a quad-core Exynos 4412 processor and 2GB of RAM. Yes you read that right. It is indeed powered by a quad-core Exynos processor, which is absolutely crazy. The device also comes with 16GB of internal memory powered off of a 1850 mAh battery and has the standard 8-megapixel rear shooter. For a flip phone, it definitely has a lot of power inside it. The only reason I would see in getting this phone is so that you can brag about having the best flip phone in the world.
For the price they are asking, I doubt they will be seeing a whole lot of sales of off this guy. Do you think that this is just wasted money, or is it actually worth something?
