Overmax Action Tablet Targets Gaming Fans

A new gaming tablet ihas entered the marker, joining the likes of the Archos Gamepad and the Wikipad.

Called the Overmax Action, this tablet is equipped with a a Cortex A8 processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz, 8 GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. Its graphics processor is still unspecified. Meanwhile, its display is a capacitive touchscreen measuring 7 inches diagonally. For connectivity, this tablet is supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. It also comes with a mini USB port to allow gamers to attach peripherals to the tablet, as well as amini HDMI output port in case its users want a larger display such as an HDTV. The Overmax Action is likewise packed with a 3.5 mm audio jack and dual cameras, as well. It comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. To enhance the gaming experience, its makers integrated a special virtual mapping system on the device’s buttons. Apart from these, however, the makers of Overmax Action have not revealed details about the upcoming device.

Gamers will be glad to know that this slate is already preloaded with emulators and as many as 50 games. They may, however, download free or paid games from the Google Play Store as the tablet offers access to the same. Furthermore, it supports games for the PlayStation 1, and some made for the N64, SNES, and GBA.

The Overmax Action appears to have several similarities with the Archos Gamepad. Both come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 8GB of storage, the option of memory expansion through a microSD card slot, Google Play Store access, a mini HDMI slot, a 7-inch display, and a virtual mapping system. One difference, however, is that the processor of the Gamepad is slightly faster at 1.5GHz.

The Overmax Action is expected to be available in the market next month. Its price, to date, is still unknown.
