Not bad for a goal of covering the U.S in LTE by the end of 2013, eh? AT&T has announced that they have also expanded their LTE coverage in Fairfield County, Connecticut, along with a few other surrounding areas in Detroit, Michigan. Earlier this month AT&T announced their extremely aggressive $14 billion plan to grow their LTE network. With the amount of cities lighting up with LTE as of late, it has been money well spent. The addition of 14 cities to their LTE network brings them up to a total of 103 cities with LTE coverage. That is nearly double the coverage they have had since the beginning of this year. Obviously this is nothing in comparison to Verizon’s LTE coverage, but AT&T is definitely making progress. Regardless, AT&T is just starting to pick up speed, they have more plans to expand their LTE coverage to other cities before the end of 2012.
2013 is starting to sound very promising for AT&T.
