Samsung Galaxy S III is T-Mobile’s All-Time Best Selling Phone

T-Mobile announced through its Twitter account that the Samsung Galaxy S III is its best-selling phone of all time. Big Magenta did not give an exact figure that tells us just how many units of the device it had sold. However, last August, it stated that it had been able to sell 1,252,000 units of the Samsung Galaxy S II, the S III’s predecessor. Thus, it may be deduced that the company had been able to sell more than a million of these handsets since its launch.

In selling the Samsung’s flagship smartphone for 2012, the South Korean company decided to release variants made for different mobile carriers. T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S III is driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Processor with 1.5 GHz Dual-Core CPU. It has Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as its operating system. Yet, Samsung has already confirmed that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be arriving soon for the Galaxy S III on T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and U.S. Cellular.

The handset furthermore packs 2 GB of RAM. Users have a choice between a model with 16GB of storage and one with 32GB of storage. Both of these, however, sport a built-in SD card slot that supports cards of any capacity up to 64GB. It is fuelled by a 2100mAh battery that boasts of around 10 hours of usage.

The handset’s display measures 4.8 inches and is an HD Super AMOLED screen with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. It also boasts of an 8-megapixel main camera at its rear with LED flash. Said camera has a 1.9-megapixel sensor that captures video and images in 720p HD quality. The SAFE-certified handset comes with support for 4G connectivity and Near Field communication, as well. Other features include AllShare Play, S Beam, S Voice, Wi-Fi Direct, Smartphone Mobile HotSpot, Motion Activation, and Touch Wiz 5.0.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s global sales of the Samsung Galaxy S III have so far gotten high numbers. In July,  the electronics giant reported that its sales of the handset already hit 10 million. Two months later, it announced that it had already surpassed the 20 million mark in just a little over three months after it was launched. Globally, the Samsung Galaxy S III is said to have sold 3 times faster than its predecessor, and six times faster than the first Galaxy S smartphone.
