There has been a few different reports of a 32GB Nexus 7 surfacing for this past week or so. Completely new details have circulated today, and has suggested that there could be more to the Nexus 7 than just the mere rumor going around. First up on the line are various reports from a Japanese Nexus 7 buyer on Twitter, who has claimed that he had been mistakenly shipped one of the 32GB models of the Nexus 7. Which, is lucky for him, but possibly unfortunate for Google. The tablet was first purchased by a Twitter user that goes by the name of @oppese, and has reported that the box was labeled as the 16GB Nexus 7, but when it was turned on, it revealed that there was actually an entire 27GBs of storage available for the device, after the 5GB or so is reserved for the Android operating system.
On top of that, there was another leaked inventory screen that has been taking its rounds today, and has been reported that it has come from Dixons Stores Group in the United Kingdom. The screenshot shows that this 32GB Nexus 7 is priced at £199.99, which happens to be the exact same price as the 16GB model of the Nexus 7 tablet. Of course, if the image happens to be accurate, it is very well possible that this model could be replacing the 16GB model at the $250 price point in some other various territories, which will likely lead to some price cutting on the 8GB and 16GB Nexus models. Of course, who knows how much good that will do if word gets going about the 32GB model. Many people may be wanting to save for the new iteration instead of a price cut 8GB model.
You should take this with an extremely heavy grain of sale, as none of this is actually confirmed yet. Of course, with Apple’s new 7.8 inch iPad getting ready to make its official release in the next couple of weeks, this is almost a guarantee that Google and ASUS is looking for a way to remain extremely competitive in the 7 inch tablet market. Of course, once Apple debuts this new tablet, there’s no telling what lawsuits are going to look like. We’re almost sure that Apple will be trying to claim a few things, but since Google got there before Apple, it only makes sense to keep moving forward with their 7 inch tablet plans.
Of course, if you don’t want to wait for a 32GB model of the Nexus 7, Google currently has both the 8GB and 16GB models in stock over on Google Play, which you can go and purchase here, if you so decide too. Now, is anyone excited for the new 32GB Nexus 7 model if it happens to officially surface on the Google Play store? If you already own a Nexus 7, do you think that you will be replacing it with the larger size, or are you going to just wait on it?
