Nexus 3 device revealed in photo’s EXIF data

A lot of people are excited about the LG Nexus 4, which Google was expected to announce today. But thanks to the weather, our wait has been extended. The Nexus 4 is expected to have a 4 inch plus display size, and the Samsung Nexus 10 tablet is expected to have a 10.1 inch display. The Nexus 7 has a 7 inch display. So, we can deduce that the number in the name of any Nexus device indicates the screen size. Does it mean that if a Nexus device were named Nexus 3, the display on that device would be a 3 inch display? Probably. But why are we talking about a Nexus 3?

Well, that is because an image taken from a device named Nexus 3 has been discovered. The image in question was found on John Mueller’s Google+ profile page. And John Mueller happens to be a Google employee. What are the odds? The image was discovered to be taken from the Nexus 3 device after the EXIF data of the image was examined. But of course, the EXIF data can easily be faked.

Assuming that John Mueller has not done any such thing, we can safely assume that there is a 3 inch (probably) Nexus 3 smart phone in the works which Google was supposed to announce at today’s Android event. But I guess we will not be hearing about it for a few more days.

If you follow Android and the rumors that surround the platform, you would have heard that rumor that Google is expected to unveil multiple Nexus devices this year, and this rumor seems to be proving right as we already have solid news about two such Nexus devices, the LG Nexus 4 and the Samsung Nexus 10. Only time will tell us if the Nexus 3 also exists or not.
