We have heard about a Samsung Galaxy Premier before, that is because the rumor had caught very good momentum that this could be one of the devices that will make their way to the Google event as a Nexus device at the end of this month. But that rumor was soon dismissed by many tech enthusiasts and tech guru online because the images of the smart phone which were leaked on the internet featured a Touch Wiz based manufacturer overlay on the Android operating system. And we all know that a Nexus device will always have the Vanilla Android operating system experience with no operator or manufacturer over lay what so ever.
But now, the rumor is back on the internet, and this time around, it is because of GL Benchmark. The benchmarking website had put up a page displaying benchmarking results from an unknown Samsung device with the model number GT-I9260. This gave rise to the suspicion that this could actually be the Samsung Galaxy Premier. But soon after the page went online, it was taken down. So the page is offline now.
According to the report by GL Benchmark, the device featured a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED HD display, which we find on all Samsung high end devices. The smart phone also featured a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, but there was no detail about which processor it was. Also, there were traces of an 8 mega pixel camera on the back of the device.
The screen captured from the website also shows the presence of PowerVR SGX 544 graphics on the device, but the scores, as you can see, are not for a very high end smart phone. Engadget believes that if at all such a device exists, it would be a pre production unit and a final version of a Smartphone ready for the market.
