LG Optimus G is said to be the most powerful smartphone manufactured by LG, and its hardware specs support the claim. The device went on sale few weeks back in South Korea and the company has received better response than expected. The phone has managed to create a lot of buzz.
The device will be launched very soon in the U.S., in fact the device is said to have made its way through FCC today. According to the regulatory approval papers, a LG device with code E975 has been approved by the agency. The device that has been passed can very well be the Optimus G for AT&T considering the fact that it supports GSM 850/1900 frequencies, in addition to W-CDMA and LTE networks.
If you live in Canada and dying to be an LG Optimus G owner, here’s good news for you. Rogers has already started accepting pre orders for this iconic device and will supposedly launch the device in the 2nd week of November. We’re not sure what the exact date is, but if you take a close look at the picture you will find that the device is displaying November 13th, so we’re assuming it will be launched on 13th, but that’s a rough assumption and take it with a pinch of salt.
Roger’s website is displaying a price tag of $599.99 off-contract or $129.99 with a three-year contract, and users can reserve the phone right now for $40. If you have decided LG Optimus G as your next smartphone, you can go ahead. For those who aren’t sure, LG Optimus G comes with 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 (15:9 ratio). Powering this smartphone is a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, featuring a 1.5GHz quad-core Krait processor and 2 gig of RAM. Of course, LTE connectivity is a part of the package in addition to some other fairly common hardware features like NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and Wi-Fi with DLNA.
In the imaging department, the device will feature either a 13 megapixel or 8 megapixel camera. In case of Rogers, the device will come with 13 megapixel shooter. There’s LED flash present and the camera is capable of shooting 1080p video. A 2,100 mAh battery takes care of the power department and is claimed to last for 15 hrs of talk time and 335 hrs of standby.
In terms of size, the device measures 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.45mm, and the whole package is fairly light at 145 grams, which is good number considering the size of this device. The phone will be booting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Optimus UI overlay, and Jelly Bean will be coming to the device sometime in the future. If you’re a Roger customer, you can reserve a piece for yourself now.
LG Optimus G is definitely an attention grabber. It will be launching in Japan later this month and will be coming to US in November. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comment section below.
