In Townsmen you’ll be able to create your very own medieval themed Kingdom. One of the best aspects of this game is the fact that you can create your own economy and choose whether it will thrive or take a turn for the worse. Of course, a thriving economy means happy residents! Aside from that, managing a good economy is the key to success, and you can do this by doing different jobs like mining, logging farming, producing various types of jewelry and much, much more. Using materials, you can build Churches, taverns and marketplaces for your townspeople to explore and spend their hard earned money at. What’s a city without some good ol’ fashion aesthetics though? You can create some visually stunning environments by adding statues, monuments, parks and gardens to your city.
The game is entirely animated too, so it’s not something like Dwarf Fortress and Kingdoms of Camelot where animations are kept to a minimal amount. That said, you’ll be able to watch your townspeople scurry about their daily chores. This means that you will also need to keep them happy and well fed so they continue doing their chores eagerly. To sum all of this up, you’ll be able to take part in city building gameplay themed around the medieval era, create a complex economy with deep production chains, work with tons of different production buildings, solve challenging tasks throughout diverse scenarios and take part in the unrestricted sandbox gameplay mode!
There is both a free version and paid version of the game. All the paid version is, is the removal of ads along with starting out with 250 Prestige in your city. The one thing this game lacks is a type of combat gameplay. All you will be doing in your city is managing your various production buildings, parks, and etc. You won’t have any sort of military to manage, which I think is a huge disappointment. Managing a complex economy is a great feature, but I think adding some sort of military management to the game would make things even better and really add a lot of content to the complex economy management.
The game will only cost you a mere $2.45, which is a lot cheaper than a lot of the more quality games on Google Play. Everything in Townsmen happens as you are in the game, so this is perfect for the casual gamer, as it will not require your constant attention, and you can just pick it up whenever you are feeling like playing. Also, I think there are a lot of people out there that love the Medieval theme to their games, so Townsmen might be perfect for you to play if you are into those types of games.
One thing to note is that this game is optimized for big screen TV’s, so if you know how to set all of that up through your tablet and/or smartphone, you’ll be able to enjoy Townsmen on the big screen as well! This isn’t my most favorite casual game on Google Play, as I have been really addicted to World of Goo, but if you are looking for something different, I highly suggest this game.
