Acer Iconia W700 Windows 8 tablet coming to stores on Oct. 26th for $800

With the release of the new operating system from Microsoft, Windows 8, just around the corner, more and more Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) are bringing out their Windows 8 based tablets personal computers every day. And today is the chance of Acer, which has announced its new Acer Iconia W700 Windows 8 tablet, an awesome piece of art and technology.

The tablet comes in two processor variants. Even though both are Intel processors, one variant will have the new third generation Ivy Bridge Core i3 processor, whereas the other variant of the tablet will come with a much powerful Intel third generation Ivy Bridge Core i5 processor. Other than the processor, other specs will remain mostly similar between the two.

The Acer Iconia W700 Windows 8 tablet is coming with a 11.3 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Which is a full HD IPS LCD touch screen display, which is obviously awesome for watching movies and viewing pictures. Viewing pictures on the display will obviously need you to have pictures on the tablet. For this, the tablet has a good 5 mega pixel camera on the back of the device, which takes really good images and records full HD (1080p) videos.

To store so much of images and videos, you will need a lot of space on your tablet. The company gives you two choices here as well. You can opt for either a 64 GB version or a 128 GB version, the storage type is SSD. And if you are big on video chatting and taking self portraits, the Iconia W700 also has a 1 mega pixel front facing camera.

The tablet is rich on ports as well. It has a USB 3.0 port and a Thunderbolt port as well. There is an HDMI port for you to connect your tablet to a big screen. And if you are not so interested in the new HDMI technology and still prefer VGA, the company throws in an HDMI to VGA conversion cable into the box as well.

Next, the tablet comes with a cradle, to which you can dock your tablet. The cradle will not only charge your tablet, but will also provide you with a lot more ports.
