Acer has just revealed their new Android powered tablet that will be headed into the 7 inch market. Acer will be releasing Nexus 7 competitor, the Iconia Tab A110 on October 30th for a mere $229.99. As you can see, the 7 inch market is beginning to get really popular, especially with Apple preparing themselves to jump in the market. At the same time though, is there really anymore room for a budget tablet in this market I mean, there are so many different budget tablets now, its almost confusing. At the moment though, it seems the Nexus 7 is still in the lead when it comes to budget, but within this crowd of budget tablets, surely one will be coming up to take its place. There’s always more room for more budget tablets, mainly because people love getting a good deal and saving themselves cash. The Iconia Tab A110 is something that is most welcome in this market though. It has something that most would drool over — the famed microSD card slot.
The full specifications of the devices are as follows — NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internet storage, and a 1024 x 600 display. This is all powered by the famed Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as well. The A110 comes off the scale at 0.86 pounds and is actually less than .5 thick. Sounds pretty portable to me! Now, if you add in extra features like Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI via the A110’s dedicated microHDMI port, and the standard microUSB 2.0 port, I think you may just have the recipe to actually compete with Google’s Nexus 7. Although Acer isn’t the best when it comes to tablet support and timely updates, at the price of $229.99, what more could you really ask for? This baby is jam packed full with a bunch of extra goodies. Maybe they’ll even have a lot of useful exclusive apps pre-loaded on the device like the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T did. That would just make everything even more sweeter than it already is.
I’m really excited that we will be seeing an actual 7 inch Android tablet hitting the market. A lot of these 7 inch tablets are serious jokes almost. With technology getting so advanced, I was never sure how some of these mediocre 7 inch tablets were actually making it into the market and sustaining themselves. The Iconia A110 will be going on sale in the United States and Canada in only 12 days on October 30th. Hopefully this tablet will really be successful, and hopefully people will realize that it is a good competitor to the Google Nexus 7, maybe we can finally get some real competition going on in this market. It has been lacking in that area for quite some time now, as you have probably seen for yourself.
Are you going to pick the Acer Iconia A110 when it goes on sale later this month? Do you think that it is a good replacement for your Google Nexus 7, or even your current 7 inch tablet? Let us know in the comments below! We’d love to hear your opinion on this guy!
