The new Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G is now on its way to T-Mobile according to an announcement from the carrier as well as Samsung.
The Galaxy S Relay 4G is a handset exclusively offered by T-Mobile in the United States. It boasts of several features such as Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and access to Big Magenta’s 4G HSPA+ 42 network.
Typing is made easy on the Galaxy S Relay 4G through the inclusion of a full 5-row QWERTY physical keyboard that slides out from the side of the 4-inch Super AMOLED screen of the handset.
Underneath, the device is powered by a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz.
Through a feature called Smartphone Mobile HotSpot, the device allows the user to connect other devices such as tablets, notebooks, and e-readers to the Galaxy S Relay 4G and use the 4G connection from the phone provided that users have the appropriate rate plan. As many as five devices are permitted by T-Mobile for this feature. The phone furthermore supports Wi-Fi Calling.
Among the smartphone’s other features are access to Samsung Media Hub as well as Google Play music and T-Mobile TV in mobile HD. It also offers a 1.3-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The phone is capable of recording 720p High Definition quality video with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
Lastly, those who would like to use this phone for business purposes will be pleased to note that the Galaxy S Relay 4G is a Samsung Approved For Enterprise (SAFE) phone. This means that such users would not have to worry about the security of vital business information because this phone supports AES-256 bit encryption, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, and VPN solutions.
The exact date when the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G will be available online or at retailers has not been revealed yet, but T-Mobile says it will be sometime “in the coming weeks.” Its price, moreover, remains unknown.
