The hottest news in the smartphone market today may have been Nokia’s showcase of their new Lumia smartphone and their tweet hinting a new Android smartphone in the works, but in my opinion Motorola stole the showcase with their release of 3 new Android smartphone. In their New York-based media event earlier today, the company announced one of the best smartphones they ever did announce, the Droid RAZR Maxx HD – basically a variant of the Droid RAZR HD but with a larger battery. Motorola decided to unveil both these smartphones at the same time to avoid the mistake they made with the release of Droid RAZR and the Droid RAZR Maxx.

Although the Droid RAZR Maxx HD comes with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, a Jelly Bean upgrade will be available soon. This phone will come to Verizon but neither Verizon nor Motorola could reveal the pricing details. However, since the Razr M will be going for $99 on a contract, the Razr HD may be priced at $199 with contract. Motorola says that this smartphone will come to the stores by the end of the year. International availability was however not mentioned for this model.
Motorola markets the Razr Maxx HD as a remarkably thin phone with a high performance battery that can provide up to 13 straight hours of video playback. There are also a ton of features that the Razr Maxx HD comes with including enhanced help guides, an interactive user interface with useful widgets on the home screen, business ready features and NFC capability. All the Droid Razrs that Motorola unveiled today run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich but there was a promise of Jelly Bean updates to come soon.
