There hasn’t been any flagship gadget from Verizon of late, in fact the last was the Droid RAZR which was announced almost a year ago. The RAZR MAXX was announced during the CES but Motorola had to come up with something that rivals Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and HTC One X. The Droid RAZR HD may be that device.
This smartphone boasts of a 4.7 inch revamped screen with a 720p high definition resolution. This is a massive improvement from its predecessor which did not do so well on the market. The phone’s bezel is certainly smaller – a step closer to having an edge-to-edge screen. Another impressive design feature of the RAZR HD is the back Kevlar lamination – something that has grown to become synonymous with Motorola handsets these days. The lamination extends throughout the back of the device. This lamination definitely gives the phone more strength without increasing the weight. It is also splashproof and can resist abuse better than its predecessor the
This phone packs a 1.5GHz Dual Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor under the hood, I GB of RAM 16 GB of onboard memory, expandable to up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. We had hoped that this phone would come with Snapdragon’s new S4 Pro processor which is a quad core but I guess the dual core has been proven to be an amazing performer too, this should prove to be a formidable challenge to the One X and the S3.
The Droid RZRZ HD comes to Verizon – a carrier with widespread 4G LTE network. With this phone, downloading movies and music or streaming them will be a breeze because it is LTE capable and comes with Chrome for Android pre-installed. However, the most impressive thing about this phone is the battery power which is touted to provide up to 13 hours of fast browsing and video playback. Its 2500 mAh battery is certainly impressive as it can give up to 32 hours of standby time according to Motorola. However, if you want better battery performance, you can go for the Maxx variant of this model which comes with a better battery than this.
