The new iPhone 5 has been what almost everyone has been talking about over the past couple of days, some praising others criticizing it. Right now, it is like the wars in the smartphone market is between Samsung and Apple, the S3 Vs iPhone 5. There are a few other players who have been overshadowed including Optimus G from LG which is currently being advertised and will be coming before the end of October, Galaxy Note 2 from Samsung, Find 5 and a few other gadgets.
We have talked severally about the new smartphone from Oppo, Find 5. This to me is one of the most loaded smartphone with all the features that might earn it the top spot as the most powerful Smartphone on the market (dethroning the S3) if the rumored specs are anything to go by. There were a couple of details about this new smartphone released a couple of days ago including an impressive 1080p display.
A few more details have emerged and if you are one of those fans who look forward for a smartphone that sets a new standard on the market then you will be interested to know that the phone comes with a 12 MP rear camera, a 2GB RAM and a 2,500 mAh battery. It emerges that Oppo Find 5 is more of a phablet than a smartphone because of its 5 inch screen, we therefore have to group it together with Galaxy Note 2 and the rumored HTC Droid Incredible x.
This monster coming out of China is the latest to make the global news after Xiaomi’s Mi 2 Android smartphone which has not hit the shelves yet but may land in the European market after its launch. Oppo is a company that seems to put a lot of effort in breaking records. They set a standard with their Find 5 X909 being the thinnest quad core smartphone and currently having the world’s thinnest smartphone title (do not believe what Apple says about the iPhone 5, it is not the thinnest).
Find 5 sports a 5 inch 1920 x 1080 pixels screen with 441 ppi density and will also feature a 2MP front facing camera for video calls. The battery capacity is interesting too considering that not so many phones, even the high end ones, come with a battery with over 2,000 mAh. 2,500 mAh is a lot of juice and could be what will push people to choose it over most other high end smartphones. However, the battery may not be expandable (as in the case of Samsung Galaxy S3) because Oppo has chosen to go the HTC way with a non-removable battery.
Oppo Find 5 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragin S4 Pro processor and will come with Android jelly Bean 4.1 out of the box if the rumors are true. The only other smartphones that will come with a Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core processor are LG Optimus G and Xiaomi Mi 2. Rumor has it that the new HTC DIx will too sport a Snapdragon S4 Pro chip but we cannot be sure about this yet.
There is currently no mention on the pricing and expected date of launch of the Oppo Find 5 or whether Oppo will sell it outside Asia. An incredible gadget like this should not be confined to Asia, Oppo bosses should work on venturing to European and US markets, I am sure there are many of us who would love to lay our hands on such a device.
