There have been rumors for quite a while that Boost mobile would be getting the Samsung S2 hand-down the Samsung epic 4G touch, but what we did not know is that this handset would be a formidable competitor to the original Samsung S2. Yesterday Samsung officially confirmed that the s@ 4G smartphone would be headed to Boost Mobile for a price of $370 by or on September 6th. This is one of the best handsets in the market with a ton of variations from last year’s Galaxy s2 – including a launch with the Android flagship Android 4.0 flagship Ice Cream Sandwich out-of-the-box.
This handset’s specs remain pretty much the same as the original S2’s – a 4.5 inch display, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 8MP rear camera, 1GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory. The phone will however operate on Sprint’s WIMAX network – you have to be sure that the area you are in or intend to use the phone in is covered to avoid disappointment.
Sprint will also be releasing another handset – Samsung Galaxy Rush which will retail at a lower price of $150. This handset though will feature a 3.5 inch screen and a 3MP rear camera but will not have the dazzling features of the S2. If you want a lower end phone, then this is your best option.
If you are interested in hearing from the horse’s mouth, here is the original press release from Boost mobile on these two Galaxy phones.
