Planetside 2 Statistics Turn Out To Be Brutal, Literally

The players in the Planetside 2 beta have been really busy and working very hard to obliterate each other for the past few weeks since the launch of the Planetside 2 beta. According to statistics that SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) sent PC Gamer, the average beta tester has put in at the very least, two hours of active duty per day. That said, there have been more than eight billion points of damage that have been dealt out courtesy to these players firing more than 194.6 million shots. Yes, my friends, this is a massive war (which, is essentially what Planetside 2 is all about). It’s literally insanity in the battlefield, but that’s simply perfect. Planetside 2 is supposed to essentially be a high-tech military simulator. At least, it’s combat is. I think that a good 194 million bullets fired is pretty standard in the military, wouldn’t you say?

Here’s a list of the carnage going on out there in the battlefield:

  • 8.5 billion points of damage done to players
  • 5.8 billion points of damage done to vehicles
  • 535 million shots fired
  • 194.6 million shots hit
  • 6.3 million player deaths
  • 2.3 million rockets launched
  • 571 thousand grenades thrown
  • Empire allegiance breakdown:
  • Terran Republic: 34.67%
  • New Conglomerate: 32.96%
  • Vanu Sovereignty: 32.37%

If you’re not enlisted yet, you might want to head on over to the Planetside 2 website and put your name in. In the coming weeks its highly possible that one of the allegiances could use your help in this onslaught.

That said, is anyone in the beta as of yet? Is it as massive and large-scale as the SOE developers have claimed it to be? I personally can’t wait to get in this action myself as it seems like an awesome game based off of all the previews and such.

  1. I been in the beta a few weeks, Its pretty insane, I have only played as TR so far. When I first got in there where some frame-rate issues, but the last few updates have seen me get around 25-30 frames, dropping to 10 in the massive firefights. (my PC is mid spec at the best, built 3 years ago) But its a beta, I am sure it will get smoothed out over the next few months.

Even tho I am playing on the lowest possible graphics settings, its a beautiful world, and the nighttime fights are just stunning, sound is not great at the moment, I hope they improve the sound at some point.
