As is the case for most upcoming devices, a number of leaked photos have risen that have revealed numerous amounts of new accessories for Sony’s upcoming rumored Xperia tablet. As the leaked images have implied, Sony has manufactured a keyboard case that is very similar to what you might find with Microsoft’s up and coming Surface tablet. Coming along with the keyboard case, Sony is also preparing a media docking station with a remote control and stand for the Sony Xperia tablet that will allow consumers to use the device in both landscape and portrait mode. Not only that, but those two accessories alone would make it a whole lot easier when it comes to viewing media (TV shows, movies and etc).
As we can all see, it seems that Functionality is a pretty important factor in the design of Sony’s newly leaked accessories, but as with all tablets, the company is going to need to provide a clear reason to purchase the tablet in the first place. I think that while the Xperia brand has a pretty large userbase, it won’t be enough to make the tablet profitable. Then again, with the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) being experimented with the Xperia S, we could possibly see it on Xperia tablets in the future. Thus giving a pretty good reason to purchase the tablet. I personally am just a general fan of Sony’s quality when it comes to design and performance as they have proved with Xperia smartphones. If we consider that the iPad, Nexus 7, Kindle Fire already have a pretty good foothold in the market, Sony will struggle to sell these tablets. That aside, I think that Sony will be able to pull something off as they usually do.
We can only speculate as to what will happen with the tablet, but as we all know, the IFA (International Franchise Association) convention is kicking off this week so there is no doubt that we’ll be seeing a ton of info on Sony’s up and coming Xperia tablet along with the many accessories that will be releasing alongside it.
If the hardware looks good for the tablet, I’ll definitely be looking to be one of the firsts to get the tablet and possibly some of its accessories. If it’s not good, well, depending on how low the hardware goes, I might consider downgrading. I do love the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T, but Sony makes some awesome hardware and there is no doubt that the Xperia Tablet won’t be an exception. Sony has neither confirmed or denied the leaked images, but they photos do look like official photos that would be uses in sales marketing, so it is very well possible that they are something to go on.
Stay tuned with us this week and we’ll make sure to keep you updated on this tablet. It look’s really nice and is something that can’t be passed up as far as I know.
